The Summit at Lakestone: Construction Milestone Update
Construction at the Summit at Lakestone continued to move steadily toward completion throughout July, with the focus increasingly shifting from major civil construction to utility installation, testing, inspections, and the final elements of the finished community.
Water Booster Station: Complete
A significant milestone this month was the completion of the new water Booster Station, concluding another major component of the water infrastructure constructed by the developer for the District of Lake Country. With the first lift of asphalt already in place and the majority of the major underground infrastructure behind us, the Summit is increasingly beginning to look and feel like the finished neighbourhood envisioned when construction began.
Shallow Utilities: Well Underway
Installation of shallow utilities progressed substantially during July and is now approximately 57% complete, with the remaining electrical, telecommunications, and gas infrastructure scheduled for completion through August.
Inspections & Commissioning: On Track
Progress through municipal inspections, testing, and commissioning has been proceeding very well, allowing the project team to maintain the accelerated construction schedule established over the past several months. The activities identified in our June update remain on schedule, with August expected to see completion of the shallow utilities, continued municipal approvals, sidewalks, street lighting, and preparation for the final lift of asphalt.
Following completion of these works, the development will move through its final inspections and commissioning process. FortisBC energization of the Summit is currently anticipated for late September — one of the final major milestones required to bring the new neighbourhood fully online.
What’s Next
The Summit continues to track well ahead of its original November 2026 completion schedule. With the major earthworks, deep servicing, road construction, and water infrastructure now substantially behind us, the focus over the coming weeks turns to completing the final visible elements of the Summit and bringing nearly two years of complex construction toward a successful conclusion.
