The Summit at Lakestone: Construction Milestone Update

June marked another significant chapter in the development of The Summit at Lakestone — and for the first time, the neighbourhood is beginning to look exactly like what it will become.

Asphalt is Down. The Streetscape is Taking Shape.

The first lift of asphalt has now been completed throughout the community, transforming what was raw construction terrain into a clearly defined neighbourhood. It’s one of those milestones that changes everything visually — the streets are real, the homesites are distinct, and the finished community is coming into focus.

Beneath the surface, all deep servicing infrastructure is now complete. Connections to the existing municipal water, sanitary, and stormwater systems are approximately 90% finalized, and shallow utility installation is well underway — marking the transition from major civil construction into the final servicing and finishing phases.

The stormwater retention facility is complete, and the water infrastructure constructed on behalf of the District of Lake Country — including the booster station and reservoir systems — has entered its final commissioning and testing phase.

As of July, the project is just 60 days from substantial completion.

Beacon Park: Almost Ready

Progress across the community’s recreational amenities has been equally impressive. Beacon Park is now in its final stages of construction, with extensive landscape planting substantially complete and the Pavilion structure fully built. The architectural tile finish on the Pavilion viewing platform has been installed, completing what will become one of Lakestone’s signature gathering spaces.

Perched at one of the community’s highest elevations, the Pavilion offers panoramic views stretching from West Kelowna to Fintry along Okanagan Lake, with sweeping outlooks over Duck Lake, Kalamalka Lake, and Wood Lake. Together with the surrounding trail network and park amenities, Beacon Park is beginning to realize its full vision — an exceptional recreational destination for the residents who will soon call this place home.

What’s Next

The final stretch of construction is focused on completing the visible finishing elements of the community:

Throughout July, crews will complete shallow utility installations, finalize testing and commissioning of all municipal service connections, and install the electrical transformers that will prepare the development for energization.

In August, sidewalks, street lighting, and the final lift of asphalt paving will bring the neighbourhood to its finished condition — followed by final inspections, commissioning, and energization of the FortisBC electrical system.

Originally forecast for completion in November 2026, The Summit is now tracking substantially ahead of schedule — a reflection of the outstanding collaboration and professionalism demonstrated by our consulting team, contractors, and trade partners across another favourable construction season.

The finish line is in sight.
