Hiking Trails of Lake Country

Lake Country has so much to offer the hiker who’s looking to get outside and connect with nature. From Lakestone’s hiking paths to community waterfront multi-use pathways, these hiking trails let you explore the most beautiful regions of Lake Country:
Lakestone Trails: A 28.8 km network of excellent hiking trails runs from the lake shore to Summit Park, spanning a 300-metre grade. Views from the summit are panoramic. With Duck, Wood and Kalamalka Lakes to the east, and Okanagan Lake to the north, west and south, these vistas are truly unparalleled in the Okanagan Valley. A series of trail head markers at specific entry points serve to orientate hikers so they can navigate specific routes throughout the site.
Okanagan Centre Beach Park Trail: Stroll the beach path along Okanagan Lake while trekking through ponderosa pine trees. These trees are a food source for birds and attract raptors who perch high above.
Spion Kop: The beautiful Spion Kop recreation area offers a diverse mix of adventures that range from easy strolls to difficult hikes. Currently Crown Land, over 350 hectares is home to 7 marked trails that will keep you exploring all summer long!
Okanagan Rail Trail: On the east side of Wood Lake, this four season playground connects Okanagan communities. Not just for hiking, the 52 km trail (when complete) is a great wide path to be enjoyed by the biking enthusiast too!
Pelmewash Parkway: This multi-use pathway on the waterfront of Wood Lake is a continuous route from Winfield to Oyama and connects to the Okanagan Rail Trail.
