More trails in the Okanagan
March 12, 2020
Visions of linking the Okanagan by a fully connected cycling and hiking trail is gaining much enthusiasm. The trail will get cyclists off the highway and open up safe access to the small parks along the lake. It will connect communities between Sicamous and the US Border at Osoyoos.
Okanagan Rail Trail efforts have made tremendous progress in developing a linear pathway from Kelowna to Vernon. Efforts by the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail Society to develop a linear pathway from Vernon to Sicamous are well underway. And the Gellatly Bay and Parks Society is active in pathway promotion from the Bennett Bridge to Peachland. The Trail of the Okanagans Society vision is to link these efforts south to the US Border.
